KABIR
Assistant Project Manager

“I am just so appreciative to be working on such a groundbreaking project, it’s a mad one to have on the CV. It is such a big learning experience for everyone on site, there is nothing like it.”

PEOPLE & PLACE

Kabir joined the Biophilic Living project in April as a labourer. 3 weeks later he became part of the office team, as Assistant Project Manager, after the Site Manager heard of his credentials.

Kabir began his studies back home in Nigeria at Lautech University, where he was awarded a BEng in Civil Engineering. He then completed a Masters in Engineering Leadership and Management at Swansea University, which he graduated from in September 2023.

As part of Kabir’s initial employment with Hacer, he began a 3 month Part Way to Work apprenticeship under Swansea Council, which is soon coming to an end, but we’ve asked him to stay!
Alongside employment, Kabir is continuing to expand his training through a series of courses such as Project Management under the Chicago Institute of Business, PRINCE2, and APM qualifications.

“There are roughly 5 major contactors on site, everyone works together and there’s great mutual respect”

"He started on our project as a general labourer but after speaking to him each day we noticed he was more interested in the engineering, management side of the project.
Kabir has a degree in civil engineering but couldn't get any real site experience in the UK on projects at this scale, we offered him a placement for 12 weeks, and due to his commitment and attitude, we plan on keeping him on the project team for the duration, to help him develop his skillset and more importantly give him experience on a flagship project like Biophilic Living. Kabir has been a great addition to the team and is already assisting the management team with innovating solutions."

       Lee Wrightson, Project Manager

“I have worked on other sites before but not one that is connecting an existing building to a new one, I have enjoyed the mix of being on site and seeing it all fall into place, but to also be in the office and assist with the technical planning side. Its been great working with a smaller, tightknit team, it feels like we are all equal and everyone is open to each other’s ideas, which was really apparent when working on the transfer deck.”
